Hot Town, Summer in the City
Well, it has been a couple of months since my last post. Once again, I have managed to put this off more than I like. Anyway, there was some conjecture whether or not I'd even keep posting. In the end, I decided I liked the nature of the blog, and I think I'll keep at it.
May was a quiet month after the car purchase. May and June are my busiest time at work, so I had to really keep heads down and just focus on the job. At the same time, I responded to one of those SPAM messages about free stuff for completing offers. It turns out that is accurate, and I am submitting this blog entry from my new Apple iBook. I ended up spending about 75 dollars that was really wasted cost, but in the end, a 1000 dollar iBook was worth it. I jumped on the Apple bandwagon more than anything so that I could guarantee it wouldn't have anything work related on it. I wanted to be able to take a laptop on vacation to watch DVDs, download pictures from the camera, and surf the Internet without worrying about using work resources for personal use. This thing really is sweet.
One of the things that did come out of this was the new web site. If you haven't been, you should check out our new web site at FreeServers.com It was one of the deals I had to complete for this laptop. It has 1GB of disk space for 8 bucks a month if you pay a year at a time. Not a bad deal really.
Well, I missed the reunion. I am only slightly annoyed with myself about that. I really would have wanted to see some people, but then there are others that I didn't care about seeing, and some that would have had Colleen screaming to no end. In the end, this is better. I do intend to hit the 25 year either way. I liked a lot of folks there, and it never hurts to see how some have changed.
The cruise is in a week and my vacation starts in less than a week. Add in that this is a 4 day weekend for me, and I really am only working 3 days until vacation. I am in pure sloth mode, which is always nice. :-) Colleen and I are really stoked. Keep an eye on the new site for pictures. Now that we have a ton of space, we plan to post tons out there. Broadband recommended (if you are still on dial-up, what planet do you live on anyway?)
It is definitely Summer in the South. Hot, humid, and chances for thunderstorms every afternoon. One of these days I am going to find someplace to live that isn't brutally hot in the Summer. Who am I kidding? I prefer the South, and that means sucking it up. Maybe if I weren't so pleasingly plump, I'd do better at dealing with it. Oh well!
Well, I guess I better sign off. I really want to go spend some money on this new laptop. You know what they say, the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys, and do I like my pricey toys. LOL
Cheers
